Ramiro Cancelas Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ramiro Cancelas (Flushing, New York), who passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Ramiro farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Ramiro is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ramiro Cancelas and Asuncion Piñeiro. He is survived by: his daughters, Diana (Rogelio) and Sandra (Jose); his spouse Anuncia Rodriguez; his grandchildren, Dario, Tatiana Torres Cancelas and Natalia Diaz-Cancelas; and his brothers, Jose and Suso Cancelas Piñeiro. He is also survived by three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
