It is with sadness that the passing of David V. Hanson Sr. of Fonda, New York is shared. David, born on May 21, 1931, passed away on June 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wives, Betty Poultney Hanson and Emily Diviyak Hanson; his siblings, Richard L. Hanson Jr., George Hanson, Charles Hanson and Betty Brownell; and his daughter Beatrice.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Egelston (Patrick) of Tribes Hill, Janet Edick (Jesse) of Clarksboro, Joyce Yates (John) of Saratoga Springs, Julie Picher (Tom) of Wellesley, Massachusetts and David Hanson Jr. (Tamara) of Epworth, Georgia.; his stepchildren, Steve Diviyak (Teresa) and Bonnie Havlicek (Greg); his grandchildren, Jill Trainor, Jennifer Logue, Jesse David Edick (Danielle), Christopher Egelston, Justin Egelston, Jonathan Hanson (Sarah), Steven Hanson (Megan), David Hanson III, Kevin Hanson and Thomas Picher; his stepgrandchildren, Jacob, Morgan, Rebecca and Conner; his niece Joie Hanson; and his brother Kenneth Hanson (Dawn) of Fonda. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
