With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara A. McElwain (Fort Covington, New York), born in Malone, New York, who passed away on January 5, 2026 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Franklin Anderson and Ruth Anderson (Jeffrey); her brother G. Bruce Anderson; and her nieces, Lorraine Anderson and Leigh Anderson.

She is survived by: her son Andrew McElwain; her daughter-in-law Teri McElwain; her daughter Laura Amiss; her son-in-law Barrett Amiss; her son Gordon McElwain; her daughter-in-law Terre McElwain (Tarbell); her grandchildren, Clint McElwain, Kathy (Carr), Sean McElwain, Barrett Amiss II, Lauren Amiss Ferrell, Darren McElwain and Daly McElwain; her great grandchildren, Emma Jane McElwain, Zoe Ferrell, Darby Ferrell, Charlie McElwain and Anna McElwain; and her nieces, Lillian Anderson Duffy and Lynne Anderson.
