With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leonard J. Oakes Sr. of Fort Covington, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 2, 2026 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leon Oakes and Rita Oakes (Trumble); his grandchildren, Courtney Oakes (Tristan Burns), Jenna Oakes (RJ Martin), Curtis Allen (Ashton Latour), Raechelle Allen, Tayler Baker (Josh), Erika Allen (Dalton Holloway), Savanna Oakes (Brandon Adams), McKenna Oakes, Spencer and Dax Oakes; his great grandchildren, Raelynn Allen, Greyson Helms, Harper, Bennett Martin, Genevieve, Colton Burns, Hazel Allen, Ansleigh, Waylon Holloway, Hailey, Kole Baker and Avery Adams; and his siblings, Sheila Fisher Jr. (Ted) of Henrietta, William Oakes Sr. (Linda) of Ft. Covington, Gerald Oakes Sr. (Denise) of Ft, Charles and Theresa (John McDougall). He was also cherished by nieces, nephews and cousins.
