He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Niles and Dorothy Niles (Cain); his sister Elinor Gottlieb; his brother-in-law Stephen Gottlieb; and his granddaughter Nora Pitts.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Niles (Sexton); his former wife Barbara Niles (Phelan); his children, Dick Niles, Jr. (Karyn), Julie Niles (Mark Pitts), Jerry Niles (Jess) and Brian Niles; his stepson David Gottlieb (Brenda); his grandchildren, Heber (Sol), Caroline, Garrett, Murdock, Zach, Jack, Ally, Cooper, Reed and Brodie; and his great grandchild Harley.
