He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander H. Cronauer and Martha Cronauer (Boning); and his daughter Suzanne DeVost (Cronauer). He is survived by: his wife Joan; his daughter Robin Brower (Richard); his grandchildren, Jason Brower and Amy Schmitz (Corey); his great grandchildren, Leah Brower and Ezra Wayne Schmitz; his pet Spot; and his brother Walter Cronauer.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Franklin Fire Department and EMS, the Sidney Community Band, or Helios Care.
