He was predeceased by : his parents, Clair DeLavern and Darlene DeLavern. He is survived by : his wife Gloria Weber DeLavern; his children, Melissa K. Hamilton, James E. Stetson and Richard J. Stetson; his brothers, Deane DeLavern and Dennis DeLavern; and his stepsister Susie McCord. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Willow Glen Cemetery (2090 Dryden Rd, Freeville, NY 13053).
