He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward C. Eckert and Esther Carlson Eckert; and his brother Jimmy Eckert. He is survived by: his wife Judy D. Hitchcock Eckert; his children, Hunter Eckert (Heidi), Erik Eckert (Brittany), Todd Cordner (Lisa), Tina Downey (Ray) and Tessa Brozell (Scott); his grandchildren, Giovanni, Emalyn, Vincent, Jonah, Eli, Hunter, Jamie, Preston, Evelyn, Aster and Noah; and his siblings, Chuck Eckert (Donna) and Darlene Eckert.
Memorials in John's name may be made to either St. Judes Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Children's Hospital, causes he supported with pride.
