Hand of Frewsburg, New York, born in Jamestown, New York, who passed away on November 17, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, James Thomas and Dorothy I. Johnson Laughlin; her husband Bob Hand; her former life partner Gerald "Butch" Carter; her son Jeff Carter; her grandson Matthew Thierfeldt; and her brother Jim Laughlin.

She is survived by : her daughters, Jody Shely (Dale) of San Angelo, TX, Julie Fuller (Todd) of Little Valley and Jeanne Thierfeldt (Michael) of Kennedy; her grandchildren, Jeremy Fuller, Ethan Fuller, Ashley Thierfeldt (Brent), Alyssa Fuller (Matt Whipple), Emily Decker (late Jason), Lindsey Aiken (Jared) and Jacob Thierfeldt; her sister Mary Lewis (Ben); her nieces, Jill Fred and Melinda Crabtree; and her caregiver Robin Starweather Shely. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
