He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence H. Rathbun and Lucinda B. Maranville Rathbun; his spouse Beverly M. Eaton of Olean; his great grandchild Ian Miner; his siblings, Greta Harris, Patricia Ungleich, Rodney C. Rathbun and Douglas R. Rathbun; and his siblings-in-law, Alyce Rathbun, Erwin Harris, Richard Eaton and Donald Ungleich.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Rathbun (Kristine) of Friendship, NY, Bradley Rathbun (Barbara) of Burlington, KY and Suzanne (Randy Gratton) of Gates; his grandchildren, James Rafferty (Jessica), Megan Miner (Brett), John Rathbun (Aimee) and Richard Rathbun; and his great grandchildren, Emmerysn, John, Cecilia, Landon, Reed, Rhys and Jackson.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, Shriners Hospital, or the Hart House of Allegany County.
