He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo Sherman and Grace Sherman (Hull); and his wife Armeine Sherman. He is survived by: his sons, Mark Sherman (Michele) of Fulton and Todd (Cheryl Brown) of Pennellville; his close friend Nancy Fullerton of Fulton; his grandsons, Dalton and Ryan Sherman; and his siblings, Mary Lou Zeigler of Oswego, Richard Sherman of Phoenix and Miller Sherman (Fran) of Oswego. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
