He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Buchwald and Mary Schell Buchwald; his wife Joan Shearing Buchwald; and his sisters, Charlotte Eastman, Barbara Dumpleton and Joann Buchwald.
He is survived by: his sons, Steve Buchwald (Jeanne) of Lockport, NY and Jim Buchwald (Deborah) of Yellville, AR; his stepson Sean Buchwald (Jennie) of Franklinville, NY; his siblings, Joni Allen and Paul Buchwald (Margie); his grandchildren, Kyla Giles (Tim), Millissa Hock (Hans), Travis Buchwald (Mandy), Hannah Geedy (John) and Cody Buchwald (Samantha); his great grandchildren, Torsten Hock, Brynja Hock, Koen Buchwald, Annalise Geedy, Jackson Geedy, Jameson Buchwald and Robert Buchwald; and his brother-in-law John Shearing (Cathy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the New Life Fellowship Parrish Hall (23 Church St, Perry, NY 14550). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hunt-Stout American Legion Post 1670, 6301 Lamont Rd, Castile, NY 14427 or the New Life Fellowship Church, 23 Church St., Silver Springs, NY 14550.
