He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Symonds and Alma Abbott Symonds. He is survived by: his wife Carol Symonds; his son Kevin Symonds; his daughter-in-law Chrisandra; his grandchildren, Garrett and Gracyn Symonds; his brothers, Mertis Symonds Sr. (Gail), Donald Symonds Sr. and Roger Symonds Sr. (Bunny); and his siblings-in-law, William Mausert (Penny), Richard Mausert (Kathy) and Florence Mausert. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Galway Ambulance Corps, an organization close to the family's heart.
