Robert leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Robert’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Robert will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his sister Patricia O'Connell; and his parents, Frederick O'Connell and Alma Landry O'Connell. He is survived by: his wife Norine Vienna O'Connell; and his son Patrick O'Connell of Geneseo. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home (111 Main St, Geneseo, NY 14454-1221). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (4 Avon Geneseo Rd, Geneseo, NY 14454). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at the St. Mary's Cemetery (4807 Crossett Rd, Geneseo, NY 14454).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Special Olympics Genesee Region Office, 1 Grove St., Suite 216, Pittsford, NY 14534 or a charity of one's choice.
