She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Simpson and Beulah Simpson; her grandmother Jane; her husband Harry F. Arms; the father of her children Nicholas V. D'Angelo; and her brother-in-law Dale Baker.
She is survived by: her former husband Professor Nicholas V. D'Angelo; her children, Jane, Barbara Riley (Patrick), Ronald D'Angelo (Amy), Christopher Arms (Christine) and Adam Arms (Yvonne); her sisters, Barbara Baker and Laura Arms; her grandchildren, Johnna Swartele (Lance), Caitlin Riley (David Principio), Patrick Riley (Sarah), Michael Riley, Nicholas D'Angelo (Leslie), Brittani D'Angelo, Alexandria Arms, Mia Arms and David Eymer; and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Jackson of Charlotte, DJ, Ryan, Harrison, Emersynn, Fern, Andrew and Zoe. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and sister in laws.
