He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smith and Gloria Ann Smith (Campbell); and his siblings, Gloria, Mary, Carolyn, Leroy and Robert.
He is survived by: his wife Delila Mendoza; his children, Kevin Serrano, Feliciana D. Gomez, Alissa M. Serrano, Lydia Alexander, Nefertiri Smith and Van McLaurin; his siblings, Lolita, Cassandra, Arthur, Monica and Catherine R.; and his grandchildren, Dailya, Kevin, Jr., Dailano E., Zendayah M., Zenova B. Malachit and Michael A.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
