He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Colwell and Anna Colwell; his brothers, James and William Colwell; his siblings-in-law, Maureen Colwell-Conte, Paul Meacher and Victor Delpozzo; his son-in-law James Anderson; and his friend Roger Marvin.
He is survived by: his wife Vera; his children, Carol Ann Jason (Rick), Linda Anderson, Thomas Colwell (Laurie) and Michelle Anderson; his grandchildren, Kayla Grogan (Jeff), Kristie Guzelsu (Emre), Daniel Jason (Skylar), Karli Chiavelli (Jason), Brandan Jason (Courtney), Tyler Esselstyn, Thomas Griffin (Karlee), Courtney Colwell, Spencer Colwell (Chelsey), Luke Colwell and Hunter Anderson (Liam); his great grandchildren, Lucy, Maeve Grogan, Kaplan, Aylin Guzelsu, Carmella, Alvey, Luca Chiavelli and Adeline Jason; his siblings, Edward Colwell (Linda), Eileen Zinnanti (Rich), Michael Colwell (Barbara) and Timothy Colwell (Bonnie); his siblings-in-law, Rosemary Colwell, Rose Marie Meacher, Dorothy Delpozzo and Ralph Delpozzo (Nancy); and his friend JoAnn Marvin. He is also survived by cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bates and Anderson Funeral Home (110 Green St, Hudson, NY 12534). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (429 E Allen St, Hudson, NY 12534).
