He is survived by: his wife Annie McAree; his children, Gerald, Colleen, John, Nora and Tim; his grandchildren, Amanda, Olivia, Duncan McAree, Gerry, Nick Egan, Charlie, Hugh, Delaney Strecker, Ann and Lena McAree; and his siblings, Tony McAree, Patrick Nicholas McAree and Betty O'Sullivan.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whitting Funeral Home (300 Glen Cove Ave, Glen Head, NY 11545). A Mass was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary's Church (110 Bryant Ave, Roslyn, NY 11576). A burial was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Locust Valley Cemetery (117 Ryefield Rd, Locust Valley, NY 11560).
