He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Smith and Willard Smith. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his children, Donna DeRuyscher (Jeff) and Donald W. Smith, Jr. (Teresa); his grandchildren, Justin (Debra), Kevin, Joshua, Jon (Tiffany), Tyler and Isabella; his great grandchildren, Madison, Emma and Mason; his brother Robert J. Smith; and his niece Barbara. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gustafson Home (2425 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield, NJ 07080). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the Smith family has asked that donations be made to the US Department of Veterans Affairs (https://www.cdceportal.va.gov), in Don's honor.
