He is survived by: his wife Dolores (Howell); his daughter Carolyn Szydlowski; his son-in-law Alan; his grandsons, Evan and Eric; his sisters, Mary Ellen Bittel and Jane Palmieri; his siblings-in-law, Linda Howell and Robert O'Neill; his nieces, Rachel and Jessica; his nephew Patrick; and his great-nephew Caleb.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Ridgewood Chapels (663 Grandview Ave, Ridgewood, NY 11385). A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:15 AM at the St. Matthias R. C. Church (58-15 Catalpa Ave, Ridgewood, NY 11385). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. John Cemetery (80-01 Metropolitan Ave, Middle Village, NY 11379).
He served as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Finance Council, Board member of the St., Matthias Educational Foundation.
