He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Gardner (Brow) and Reginald Gardner; his sister Joan Leon; his wife Jeanne Gardner; and his close friend Jackie Tuttle.
He is survived by: his sister Mary Ellen Alexander; his son Todd Gardner (Teresa Morey); his stepchildren, Kelly Oathout and Chris Oathout; his grandchildren, Tess Gardner and Joshua Gardner; and his stepgrandchildren, Megan Ward, Morgan Oathout, Madison Oathout and Kyle Oathout. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Cemetery (481 Rte 9W, Glenmont, NY 12077).
