He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter J. Greenwood and Helen M. Greenwood (Blanchard); his siblings, Judy Dockum (Charley) and Ernest "Skip" Greenwood; and his father-in-law Olai Borlang.

He is survived by : his wife Nancy Greenwood; his daughter Gretchen Greenwood (Trombley); his grandchildren, Jordan Trombley and Dylan Trombley; his brother James Greenwood (Michelle); his mother-in-law Marjorie Borlang; and his sisters-in-law, Pat Greenwood, Jan Sherlock (Mark) and Addie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial donations in Walter's memory can be made to Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256.
