He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Shaffer and Bertha Shaffer; and his siblings, Gilbert, Paul, Harry, Nellie and Evelyn.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff, Joni, Joy (Johnny), Jonnie (Billy) and Joey (Jason); and his brother Ellis (Cindy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
