She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilfred Hamel and Almeta Thorne Hamel; her husband Benjamin H. Steele, Sr.; her sister Katherine Ball; and her son-in-law Shawn Dake.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Hichens (Bill) of Gloversville, Tammie Dake of Johnstown, Benjamin Steele, Jr. (Vicky) of Piedmont, SC, Kelly Walker (Bob) of Gloversville and Robert Steele (Marge) of Fonda; and her siblings, Marjorie Flint of Gloversville, Carol Hauser (Everett) of Delano, TN, Diane Wilcox of Etowah, TN and Wilfred Hamel, Jr. of Ocala, FL. She is also survived by eight granddaughters; three grandsons; seven great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Broadalbin Kennyetto Firehouse (14 Pine St, Broadalbin, NY 12025).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brennan Memorial Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
