She was predeceased by: her father Thomas Pollard; her husband John Ligon, Sr.; her son Larry; her granddaughter Jhanyce; her siblings, Thomas (Isabelle), Henry (Queen Esther), Donald Pollard, Yvonne Pollard, Myrtle Gray (Sid) and Mildred Bowman (Raymond); and her brother-in-law Calvin Beekman.

She is survived by: her children, John (Charlene), Paul (Jennifer), Neal (Marilyn), Gail Ligon, JoAnn Allen (Ron), Rebecca Ligon and Tina Cook; her daughter-in-law Debra Ligon; her niece Margo Reid; and her godson Harry Robinson (Brian Hall). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 19 great greatgrandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.

Her most favorite assignment as a Senior Companion was at the Lexington Day Habilitation Program where she worked until the COVID-19 pandemic prevented her from continuing to work.
