She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Hurd and Dorothy Pettit Hurd Sr. (Dot); her siblings, Jack Curry and Glory Young (Curry); her daughter Anna Mae Briggs; her granddaughter Ashanti Rivera; and her former husband Lawrence McWalker Sr..

She is survived by: her brother Vernon Hurd Jr.; her children, Lynnette Briggs, Rene Torres (Felix), Lawrence McWalker Jr. (Rebecca Steenburg) and Sally Rivera (Angel); her grandchildren, Shantelle Warren (Lexus Diaz), Malacki Kruger, Leticia, Jada, Zaydyn Rivera, Diana Camryn and Bo McWalker; and her former husband Raymond Briggs, Sr.. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many close friends.
