It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John A. Bornt Sr. of Gloversville, New York, who passed away on January 2, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Bornt and Sadie Billington Bornt; his daughter-in-law Vickie Mosetti Bornt; and his siblings, Ronald, Harold, Arthur Jr., Joseph, James, Richard Bornt and Bertha Thompson.

He is survived by: his stepmother Helen; his wife Marlene G. Jackson Bornt; his son John A. Bornt Jr. (Valerie Goodemote); his granddaughters, Rachel Putman (Tyler) and Rebecca Bornt (Jake Wells); and his pet Chloe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd. Gloversville, NY 12078.

“My deepest condolences to the Bornt family. It is certainly difficult to lose your Dad. I have many fond memories of time spent at the house down the road from where I grew up with John Jr and his parents. My Dad and I also made many trips to the "paper shed" selling scrap paper and metal where we traded stories with John Sr and Big Jim. Great times with great people. John Jr and I were good friends and participated in many sporting events together(baseball, basketball & soccer).”
