It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard C. Cast Sr. (Gloversville, New York), born in Syracuse, New York, who passed away on March 15, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Chase Cast and Frank Cast; his daughter Ellen Lathers (Donald Cast Sr.); his nephew Donald Cast Jr.; and his niece JoAnn Furlong.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Cast; his children, Richard Cast, Jr. (Dorie), Suzanne Stewart (Michael) and David Cast (Francine); his grandchildren, Gretchen Traugott, Emily Stryker-Lathers, Katrina Lathers, Zachary Cast and Ian Cast; and his great grandchildren, Charles Stryker-Lathers, Benjamin, Jeremy, Frederick Traugott, Forrest Cast and Callie Cast. He is also survived by his family and pets – never turning away a pet.
