He was predeceased by: his parents, William Brayton and Lillian Brayton (Bennett); his wives, Emma Brayton and Dora Betts; his sister Frances Lewis; and his sons, Howard Borst and Wayne Borst.

He is survived by: his children, Linda Elwood, John Borst, Debbie Jackson and Yvonne Baird; and his sister Joan Pettit.
