He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert G. Baran, Sr. and Sophia Baran (Zwarych); and his sister Judith Chabala (John). He is survived by : his wife Judith Baran (Holmes); his daughters, Patrica Ryan (Daniel) and Monica Schroeter (Louis); and his grandchildren, Timothy Ryan, Nicole Ryan, Matthew Schroeter and Emily Schroeter. He is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews.
