She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Edward and Elizabeth Rathbun (La Fountain); her son James "Jimmy" Butler Jr.; her stepson Ronnie Fifield; and her siblings, Ed, Raymond, Chet, Ben, Bob, Chuck, Linda, Alice, Helen and Noah.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Bassett, John Butler (Michelle Butler), Norman Butler and Lisa Newcombe (Andrew St); her stepchildren, Daniel Fifield (Tina) and Debbie Durham (Terry); and her siblings, Thomas Rathbun and Betty David. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the French Funeral Home (16 Barnes St, Gouverneur, NY 13642).
