She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence T. Sawyer and Melva M. Sawyer (Reynolds); her husband Ralph A. Higgins; and her sisters, Sandra Mitchell and Gloria Sawyer-Finley.
She is survived by: her children, James Cole Jr. (Betty), Isabelle Anne Young (Wayne), Mary Knight (Wayne) and Sarah Cole; and her siblings, Larry Sawyer and Penny Slate-Trapp. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
