We announce the death of Phyllis E. Witherell of Gouverneur, New York, who passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 94. Phyllis will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Phyllis will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Phyllis will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Phyllis’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Edwin Witherell; and her son Dean H. Witherell. She is survived by: her children, Donna E. Chambers (William J. Chambers) and David K. Witherell (Stephanie L. Witherell); and her siblings, Ken Arnold (Sheila Mack) and Velma Arnold of Rome, NY.. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
