She was predeceased by : her parents, Edward David and Verna David Sr. (Holcomb); her sons, Eugene R. James, Jr. and Matthew L. James Sr.; her grandchildren, Scottie A. Palmer and Anthony J Gilbert; and her brothers, Edward David, Jr. and Leonard David.

She is survived by : her husband Gary Bennett; her daughters, Verna James (Jason), Alizona Gilbert (Paul) and Renee LaFrancis (Randy); and her pets, Bella and Bobbiesox. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews and many friends.
