He was predeceased by his parents, Edward Steele and Arlene Garringer Steele; his siblings, Robert, Joan Dodson and Lana Hogan; and his parents-in-law, Claude Canfield and Hazel Bates Canfield.
He is survived by his wife Leila (Canfield); his children, Ash (Pam Shapley), Claude (Andrea), Jessica. Ash and Pam's family Devin (Andrea); their children, Reed, Mira and Brooks; Cody (Melissa); and their daughters, Evelyn and Hazel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
