Laurence J. Devlen Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 21, 2025, at the age of 89, Laurence J. Devlen of Groton, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence E. Devlen and Olive Devlen (Wilber); and his siblings, Beverly Todd and Richard Devlen. He is survived by: his wife Carol Devlen (Riemer); his children, Ronald Devlen (Kimberly), Judy Bartlett (Brian), Diane Dempsey (Christopher) and Nancy Morey (Randy); and his grandchildren, Benjamin Devlen (Kristina), Ashley Cusker (Brendan), Rachel Gordon (Patrick), Ari Cherry (Ryan), Kevin Senter, Mitchell Dempsey (Meegan), Molly Dempsey-Mottl (Natalie), Matthew Metzgar, Mallory Brunet (Eli) and Colin Morey. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Groton Rural Cemetery (103 Lincoln Ave, Groton, NY 13073). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Groton Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 96, Groton, NY 13073, or to a local SPCA or animal shelter.
