With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert VanAlstyne (Guilderland Center, New York), born in Albany, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 29, 2025 at the age of 77. He is survived by: his wife Emma Kay VanAlstyne; his children, Casey VanAlstyne, Heather St (Daniel), B. J. Rathburn, Timmy Rathburn and Aaron Rathburn (Jenn); and his siblings, Tracy VanAlstyne, Lisa Denison (Ralph) and Valinda VanAlstyne. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; his 6 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Guilderland Center (30 School Rd, Guilderland Center, NY 12085).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Animal Protective Foundation or to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
