He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Thornton and Eileen Thornton (McGandy); and his brother Tate. He is survived by: his wife Lynn; his daughter Jillian of Providence, RI; and his brothers, Timothy (Karen) of New Scotland, Terence (Sandy) of San Marcos, CA, Thomas (Max) of Castleton and Trent (Sharon) of Calabash, NC.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews.

Loving his Jesus, he and the whole Thornton family have been shining beacons of Gospel light to shine Christ's Light into the darkness of unbelief.
