Rice of Guilford, New York, born in Providence, Rhode Island, who passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Joan had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Joan may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her husband Blaine A. Sullinger; her son Christopher M. Sullinger; her brother-in-law Mike Monti; and her son Blaine A. Sullinger II. She is survived by: her children, Shawn M. Sullinger (Bernadette Knopfli) and Johnna Marie Dema (James E. Dema); her daughter-in-law Lynn Sullinger; and her siblings, Patricia Monti and Lawrence Martineau (Karen Martineau). She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Burnett & White Funeral Home (7461 S Broadway, Red Hook, NY 12571). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joachim's Cemetery (60 Falconer St, Beacon, NY 12508).
