With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Lou Thomas of Hamburg, New York, who passed away on January 20, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her stepson Eric Thomas; and her siblings, Geraldine Plarr (late Spencer), Roselyn Fanning-Cline (late James), Edward Metzger (late Mary) and Kathleen Pye (late William).
She is survived by: her husband Joseph F. Thomas, Sr.; her children, Cynthia Schultz (Michael), Gary Reuther (Sandra) and Lori Kane (Carl); her stepchildren, Shirley Ann Howell (Rick), Karen Thomas, Catherine Hornberger (Donald), Patrick Thomas, Joseph Jr. Thomas (Mary), James Thomas (Valerie) and Maureen Tillman (DeWayne); and her siblings, Paul Metzger (Mary Ann) and Camella Kane. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary Lou's name to the Hospice Foundation of WNY.
