He was predeceased by: his parents, Reginald Charles and Patricia O'Boyle; and his sister Patricia Seely. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Charles; his children, Krista Newman (Dave), Chance Charles (Amber) and Cody Charles (Melanie); his grandchildren, Kelsie, David Newman III, Eric, Amelia Charles and Kayla Charles; and his sisters, Cheryl Makowski (Mike), Regina Wrighter (Gail), Vicky Cuvelier (Ted), Laurie Ellis (Dana) and Theresa Allen (Greg). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel (29 E Main St, Hancock, NY 13783). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
