With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Kathleen A. McKenna (Hawthorne, New York), born in New York, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 9, 2025 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Birmingham and Helen Birmingham. She is survived by: her husband William "Bill" McKenna; her children, Anne Marie (James), Suzanne (Sal), Paul (Debbie), William (Tina), John (Maureen) and Daniel (Allison); her grandchildren, Louise, Michael, Caitlin, Jacqueline (Joey), D. J., Max, Mason, Devin, Emily and Thomas; and her sister Alice.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hawthorne Funeral Home (21 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
The family requests in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
