He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Jackel and Harriet Jackel. He is survived by: his wife Francine Jackel; his sons, Jeffrey Jackel (Laurie) and Andrew Jackel (Deb); his stepson Ian Plitnick (Deborah Garrido); his sister Lenore Jackel Egan; and his grandchildren, Miranda Jackel, Jacob and Levi Plitnick.
