He was predeceased by: his father Donald R. Putt; and his stepfather James Nissen. He is survived by: his wife Robin Putt; his mother Rosemary Nissen; his stepson Rob Groff (Katelynne McCann); and his brothers, William Putt (Margaret), Kevin Putt (Frances) and Bryan Putt. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
