He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gay and Frances Gay (Voorhees); his daughter Christina Gay; and his brothers, James Holbrook, George Gay and Edward Gay.
He is survived by: his wife Laurie Petteys; his children, Sherry Rose Gay of Herkimer, David Frances Gay (Jackie Patterson) of Ilion and April Gay of Ilion; and his grandchildren, Aaron Wilson, Alex Yadow, Corey Gay, Edward Smith, Aubrey Smith, Brianna Gay, Ava Gay, Chet Downs, Anthony Gay, Frank Arrigo and Angie Arrigo. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
