She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Shearer and Ethel Shearer; and her siblings, Thomas, Margaret, James, Clarice and Marilyn.

She is survived by: her husband Clark Vernon; her daughters, Marilyn Leahy (David) and Martha DeGarmo (Joel); her grandsons, John (Chelsea), Ben (Rain), Thomas, William, Charles and Andrew Leahy; and her great grandchildren, Timothy and Thomas Leahy.
