He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Wells and Doris Wells (Chambers); his wife Jean E. Fifield; his son Robert L. Wells; his daughter-in-law Gayle Wells; his siblings, Everett Wells and Betty; his brother-in-law Raymond Martin; his in-laws, Jay Fifield, Brayton Fifield, Howard Fifield Jr., Lloyd Fifield, Beverly Bullis and Betty Jean Fifield; his nieces and nephews, Gregory Wells, William Fifield, Rebecca Fiacco and Jacqueline Fifield; and his granddaughter-in-law Elizabeth Ferguson.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Nancy Huling; his sister-in-law Lorraine Wells; his grandchildren, Lisa Wells, John Wells, Heathe Ferguson, Heather Ferguson and Autumn Kelly; his great grandchildren, Robbie Wright, Spencer Ferguson, Madilyn Cain, Bryan Price and Matthew Gilbo; Fred Baxter (Carol), Tammy Kelly (John) and Penny Covert. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Lisbon Cemetery (White Church Cemetery) (880 County Rd 28, Ogdensburg, NY 13669).
In honor of Cecil, donations in his memory may be made to the Heuvelton Volunteer Fire Department.
