We are sad to announce that, on May 22, 2026, at the age of 86, Leonard W. Bates Jr. of Highland Falls, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Susan Bates, (Sedgwick) and Leonard W. Bates, Sr.; his wife Wilma M. Bates (Wilson); his daughter Dawn Marie Bates; and his brothers, Raymond and William Bates.
He is survived by: his son Leonard "Rusty" Bates of Middletown, NY; and his brothers, Franklin Bates of Walden, NY, Kenneth Bates of New Windsor, NY and Edward Bates of Walden, NY. He is also survived by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
