With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sara H. VanDerMeid in Highland, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 17, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arden Cole and Gertrude Trott Howland; and her brother Mark Howland. She is survived by: her husband Richard; her children, Philip VanDerMeid (Lois), Karl VanDerMeid (Laurie), Peter VanDerMeid (Maria), Gretchen VanDerMeid (Keith Daum) and Rebecca Bonn (Bernard); her grandchildren, Kelsey VanDerMeid, Alyssa Baldwin (Michael), Bethany Tice (Jordan), Matthew VanDerMeid, Grace VanDerMeid (Zack Whelan) and Henry Bonn; her brothers, Peter Howland (Lynda), Timothy Howland (Barbara) and Daniel Howland (Christine); and her friend Brenda Guida. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
