He was predeceased by: his parents, Agnes Powers (Knapp) and Richard Powers Sr.; his wife Annette (VanDerKar); his brother Ike Powers (Edward); his nephew Michael; his niece Jennifer Bakaitis; and his son-in-law Leonard Austin.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gail Smith (Daniel), Petersburgh, Rebecca Austin of White Creek and Pamela Powers (Rob Holden) of Shaftsbury, VT.; his grandchildren, Amanda Gamache (Joseph), Jamie Smith (Heather Mumford), Andrew Austin (Nikki), Adam Austin (Meggi), Kassidy Baniak (John) and Kealan Hitt (Nicole Mclenithan); his great grandchildren, Raen, Alexis Austin, Zachary Crawford-Smith, Collin Smith, Kylee Gamache, Ashton, Carter, Addison Austin, Kanaan Hitt, Melody Baniak, Matthew Dyke and Nieko Tilley; his sisters, Peg Bakaitis (Jack), Kathy Peabody (Bill) and Barb Bouplon; his siblings-in-law, John VanDerKar (Nancy), Bronnie Powers, Sandra VanDerKar and Judy VanDerKar; Zackary and Molly Reynolds. He is also survived by great) nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a memorial fund that is being established in Rich's memory to continue his legacy of selflessly helping those with emergent needs.
